Dragon Fruit (Red)

Product Details

Dragon fruit is also known as a ‘super fruit’ due to the high amounts of vitamin C and antioxidants. This popular cactus plant should be pruned when it reaches 2 metres to encourage lateral shoots. We recommend using a supporting trellis to grow this climbing-type plant. This cactus can be planted year-round, flowers in 6 – 8 months and can produce fruit up to 5 months every year. The fruit is known for its vibrant red, scale-like skin and has a translucent, edible, sweetly-flavoured, juicy red pulp with tiny black, crunchy seeds. The fresh fruit pulp can be blended as a drink or used for sherbets, salads, making juice, wine.
