The white-fleshed Cayenne guava is unique to Trinidad and can grow up to 9 metres high. This tree starts bearing in 3-4 years.  Fruits can be seen on trees from July, however guava can be seen through out the year. It is a good source of vitamins A, E, and K, and the minerals magnesium and zinc.When ripe, this fruit is often eaten out-of-hand, added to salads, or processed to make delicious treats. Guava jam and guava juice are popular local favourites.
