A recent introduction into Trinidad’s diverse collection of mangoes, the Torbet mango has a rosy blush. Torbet is a grafted tree that grows up to 10 – 15 metres and starts bearing from 2 – 3 years.The fruit typically ripens from May to August. It is best to plant trees in the rainy season. Torbet should be grown in full sunlight with adequate watering. The peel of the fruit is red in colour and the pulp is light yellow, firm, string-less, sweet and slightly tart to taste.
