Rubber ficus plants can be planted indoors in pots or outdoors along your walkways and driveways, reaching a height of 2- 3 metres tall. It prefers full sunlight and should be planted in well-aerated soil compost. It should be irrigated when the soil is dry to touch. This attractive ornamental produces broad, shiny oval-shaped leaves and requires little maintenance. Once the plant has grown to a desired height, you can trim the top. Rubber ficus produces a milky white latex similar to the commercially grown rubber tree. This latex is quite toxic to humans and animals.
