Sweet Potato (Chicken foot Carrot Variety)

Product Details

The sweet potato plant grows from stem slips, producing a vine that can be cultivated on beds. Sweet potatoes are ready for harvesting in 4 to 5 months and can be planted year round with sufficient watering. It prefers well-drained, moderately deep, sandy loam soil to produce good quality tubers. The flesh color varies from yellow, to orange to white based on the variety. Its large, starchy, sweet-tasting, tuberous roots are used as a root vegetable. The young shoots and leaves are sometimes eaten as greens.  It is also a valuable medicinal plant having anti-cancer, antidiabetic, and anti-inflammatory activities.
